André Da Matta
I am a Brazilian graphic artist and illustrator based in Oakland, California. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais.
My practice is grounded in research across collective archives, personal expression, and graphic experimentation. I am particularly drawn to the space between collective memory and personal witnessing, where fragments of lived experience and shared histories converge. It is within this tension that I find both curiosity and motivation, shaping images that reflect an ongoing dialogue between the individual and the collective.
